Context

The recent national protests in Bangladesh have had devastating effects on many families, especially those with low and middle incomes. These protests have resulted in loss of life, arrests, injuries, property damage, and significant economic hardship. Informal workers, small business owners, and day labourers have been hit particularly hard, facing limited access to financial support and recovery resources.

This fundraiser seeks to support Bangladesh's civil society, restore the economic stability of vulnerable families and help the general public, including daily-wage earners, recover from the disruptions caused by the protests.

With a focus on at-risk and minority populations, BacharLorai's initiative aims to provide immediate and comprehensive economic relief to those affected by the protests through a multi-faceted approach:

  • Supporting Families of Deceased Individuals: Providing financial assistance and emotional support to families who have lost their loved ones during the protests. This includes covering funeral expenses and offering grief counseling services to help families cope with their loss.

  • Aiding Families of Arrested Individuals: Assisting families of those who have been arrested, ensuring they have the resources needed to navigate legal challenges and sustain their households during this difficult time.

  • Helping Injured Individuals: Covering medical treatment costs for those injured during the protests, including rehabilitation and psychological support.

How Your Donation Helps

  • Community-Based Support: Partnering with reputable local non-profits and grassroots organizations to ensure that support reaches those most in need and is tailored to the specific circumstances of each community.

  • Sustainable Solutions: Investing in long-term recovery efforts, such as vocational training and small business support, to help individuals regain economic independence and resilience.

  • Medical and Psychological Support: Ensuring access to healthcare services, including trauma counseling and physical rehabilitation for those injured during the protests.

  • Educational Support: Ensuring children from affected families can continue their education by providing school supplies, scholarships, and tutoring services.

Screening Process

  • Thorough Screening Process: Each beneficiary will be carefully screened through a rigorous process to ensure they meet the criteria for support. This process includes verifying the extent of the impact from the protests and assessing the specific needs of each family.

  • Collaboration with Non-Profit Organizations: BacharLorai will partner with reputable local non-profits and grassroots organizations to identify and support beneficiaries. These partnerships ensure that aid is distributed efficiently and reaches the most affected individuals.

  • End-to-End Reporting: We commit to complete transparency in our operations. Detailed reports will be generated to track how funds are utilized, who receives them, and the outcomes of the support provided. These reports will be publicly available on our website to maintain accountability.
